Worldwide Spies Mega Update Previews

The Roblox description for Worldwide Spies tells you to watch Team Chrome HQ group and services for Mega Update previews. That sentence is the closest thing this alpha has to a public roadmap. This page lists what Gcqio and @Cars2WWS have actually shown, without treating a screenshot as a patch note. The game you join today is already the 2021-onward alpha. Mega Update work is extra reconstruction on top of a place people already race.

Follow the Team Chrome HQ group and the official Discord if you want the files the day they hit a test build. This wiki will not invent dates.

Black Forest remaster, two routes

Team Chrome previewed a complete remaster of Black Forest, Germany: “the toughest, monstrous, and most enduring map,” now with two different routes and races. A later post showed international racers for that layout, from World Grand Prix names in the film to cars that only appeared in other Cars media. Worldwide Spies is being framed as a wide, free fan catalog of that universe, still with no Disney affiliation and no GenAI assets.

The original Black Forest is already in the live map list (tutorial, Radiator Springs, the speedways, Tokyo, Porto Corsa, London, Thomasville, RS Speedway, Smasherville). International WGP racers

The Black Forest showcase is also a roster teaser. Leap Forward already added fan-favorite characters to the live select screen; Mega Update previews push that further toward a World Grand Prix grid. Do not expect a script to unlock preview-only models. Live unlocks remain group join, training, and whatever Team Chrome enables in a shipped patch. See Team Chrome Rewards and Leap Forward Update.

4K textures

A studio post said all base map textures were rebuilt at four times prior resolution, with performance described as excellent in their tests. That pass is previewed. On a weak laptop it is also a warning: denser art needs headroom. Lower Roblox graphics before you inject anything. If you still hitch, the only universal tool this wiki even discusses as useful is FPS Boost on Universal Script Tools. Fly will not make 4K cheaper.

Paris, France (in development)

Paris has been shown as a day-and-night choice: still mornings or stormy nights. Team Chrome says races change how the map plays, and that the Roblox client means you do not need a high-end PC to join the live game. Paris remains in development. It is a previewed layout, not a playlist row this wiki will mark as shipped until a patch post says so.

Noclip will not open it. Codes will not open it. There are no confirmed promo codes anyway (Promo Codes Hub).

Character model updates

RS Speedway and other reboot-scale posts mention updated character appearances. Mega Update work includes model passes so racers match the denser maps. If Twitter looks better than your garage, you are looking at preview lighting and meshes. Rejoin after patches before you assume a paint job deleted a model; Leap Forward already moved GUI.

Model Animation (July 2026 preview)

Team Chrome announced Model Animation as a major new feature in July 2026 (40K views on the reveal post), calling it “a new frontier of expression” and “just the tip of the iceberg.” The reveal used real Roblox Studio footage showing animated character models, suggesting a system that brings the Cars 2 cast to life beyond static poses. This is distinct from the character model texture updates above: Model Animation is a new animation layer, not a texture or mesh swap.

The feature is previewed. It is not in the live game yet. Until Team Chrome ships it through a patch, this wiki marks it as in-development alongside Paris and the Radiator Springs remake. Watch the official Discord and Twitter @Cars2WWS for test-build drops.

RS Speedway revitalized

Gcqio posted a quality pass on RS Speedway: casual races with friends or rival fights, plus those updated appearances. The live alpha already includes RS Speedway. The revitalization is a reconstruction of a track you can pick today, similar in spirit to the Black Forest remaster.

Later showcases that sit in the same bucket

Mega Update is a label on a pile of rebuilds, not a single checkbox. Additional previews that belong in the same conversation:

• Radiator Springs remake (September 2026 posts): a true-to-the-original-video-game rebuild with Cars 2 movie updates. Team Chrome has said the overhaul is aimed at the reboot-scale client, including PlayStation 5 and non-VR devices, while the current Roblox place remains the playable alpha.
• Porto Corsa / Italy remaster: first described as enhancements, then upgraded to a full remaster after older WIP was scrapped.

Those posts are previews. They do not make the current game unreleased. You can still play Worldwide Spies while the studio rebuilds Radiator Springs in the background.

How to follow without confusing preview and patch

1. Join the group (Rookie McQueen is a nice side effect).
2. Mute rumor channels; keep Discord and Twitter.
3. When a feature appears in the live place, look for a dated child page on this hub family. Leap Forward and Anniversary Update are the models: named, dated, shipped.
4. Until a date exists, the feature is previewed or in development.

Official URLs are collected on the Community Links Hub. New players should race the current set via Getting Started instead of waiting on Paris screenshots.
