Worldwide Spies Starter Agent Checklist

A tick-box first hour for Team Chrome HQ's Alpha so you drive before you drown in the garage.

Starter Agent Checklist

Use this Starter Agent Checklist the first time you open Cars 2: Worldwide Spies, and again whenever a friend joins the Alpha cold. It is a process page, not a lore page. Tick the boxes in order. Skip a box only if you can honestly say you already did it this week. Pair it with Getting Started for prose and with Beginner Racer Picks when the garage looks too big.

Worldwide Spies is free, playable since 25 April 2021, still in Alpha, and hosted in 20-player servers. Team Chrome HQ is the Roblox group. The game is not affiliated with Disney or Pixar. Expect bugs. Do not expect a public stat sheet. This checklist assumes the experience is already live—because it is.

The checklist

  • Open the live Roblox experience and confirm you can spawn. If you cannot, you have a platform problem, not a wiki problem.
  • Like the game on the Roblox page. Alpha still runs on that signal, and it is the cheapest support you can give Team Chrome HQ.
  • Join the Team Chrome HQ group. Rookie McQueen is the group-identity paint. Joining does not replace laps, but it does stop you from asking chat “how do I get Cars 1 McQueen?” every session.
  • Finish Tutorial. Camera, turbo, and the difference between cruise and race start here. Skipping it is how Black Forest feels “broken.”
  • Start New Agent Training far enough to understand that Union Jack Finn and Racer Holley are training-identity paints, not random shop myths. Full steps live on the unlock guide and on Finn and Holley.
  • Learn camera, turbo, and handbrake on Radiator Springs until you can turn without holding turbo the entire time. How to Race is the mechanic deep dive if your hands came from another racer.
  • Drive two maps, not ten: Radiator Springs plus one other (an oval or a street, never Black Forest yet). Use the Map Picker Tool if the lobby is loud.
  • Pick one racer from Beginner Racer Picks: McQueen, Mater, or Francesco. Spies and Cup specialists wait until the camera is calm.
  • Bookmark Codes, Updates, and the Discord from the official links hub so the second session is faster than the first.

If a box is confusing, stop ticking and open the linked page. A half-done checklist with understanding beats a fully ticked list you faked in chat.

Why the social boxes come first

Likes and group join feel like chores. They are also how you stop losing ten minutes to “is Rookie McQueen a code?” The Alpha has been live for years; the same questions recycle. Get the social boxes done while the experience is still loading in your head. Then Tutorial has your attention.

Rookie McQueen is a paint, not a second physics model we secretly measured. All-American McQueen and Rod Redline Star and Stripe have been limited windows. If a box on some other site says “must have All-American tonight,” ignore it. Limited paints are pride. They are not the first-hour grade.

Camera, turbo, handbrake: the only mechanics this list will teach

Camera: if you cannot see the next corner, nothing else matters. Practice chase-cam on Radiator Springs until buildings are landmarks.

Turbo: it is not a personality. Hold it on ovals when the pack is clean; lift when a wall is the next landmark. Smasherville will punish turbo-as-identity immediately.

Handbrake: it is for placing the car, not for turning the session into a drift clip. Porto Corsa hairpins will tell you if you are using it or fighting it.

That is enough to finish the two-map box. Everything else is a guide. Do not collect 25+ cars before those three inputs feel boring.

Two maps, one racer, then stop

New agents fail by sampling. They spawn, they open the garage, they vote Black Forest, they crash, they quit. The checklist caps the night on purpose.

Good first pairs:

  • Mater + Radiator Springs + Thomasville (kindest).
  • McQueen + Radiator Springs + RS Speedway (hometown story).
  • Francesco + Radiator Springs + Porto Corsa (only if you already like streets).

Bad first pairs:

  • Any car + Black Forest two routes.
  • A limited paint you cannot recognize + Tokyo at night.
  • Chick Hicks + Smasherville with a friend who just installed Roblox.

Read Map Difficulty Rankings if someone in chat says Smasherville is “basically Tutorial.” It is not.

Bookmarks that actually get used

Codes change. Check them when you log in, not once a season.

Updates tell you when a paint window or training badge moved. Alpha notes matter more than a year-old thumbnail.

Discord (linked from the official links hub) is for patch talk and group signals, not for downloading mystery executables. This wiki’s Scripts hub is a separate, caution-first page; do not treat scripts as a checklist item for a new agent.

The Character Roster Hub is optional on night one. The Racer Tier List Hub is optional until you can hold a line. Tools exist to delay those pages until they help.

Repeat the loop after a break

If you have not played in a month, do not assume your hands remember Porto Corsa. Re-tick Tutorial (or a Radiator Springs cruise), re-check Codes, re-check Updates, then pick two maps again. The Alpha is allowed to feel new. You are allowed to be rusty.

When you can tick every box without opening this page, you have outgrown the checklist. Send it to the next agent instead of paraphrasing it from memory in voice chat. That is the whole success condition: a shorter first hour than yours, with fewer forest wrecks and fewer garage spirals.

Tick likes, group, Tutorial, camera, two maps, one racer, three bookmarks. Then close the wiki. The Alpha rewards the session you actually drove, not the boxes you recited.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Worldwide Spies questions.

Do I have to join the Team Chrome HQ group?

You can play without it. Join when you want Rookie McQueen and to support the Alpha. It is a group paint path, not a paywall, and the game stays free.

Can I skip Tutorial if I have driven other Roblox racers?

You can, but you should not. Camera and turbo habits differ. Tutorial is shorter than one Black Forest wreck replay.

Which two maps should I tick first?

Radiator Springs plus either RS Speedway or Thomasville. Porto Corsa is allowed if streets are why you installed. Black Forest is not a first-night tick.

Where do I redeem codes from this checklist?

Follow the live steps on the Codes hub. This checklist only reminds you to bookmark that page so rewards do not expire unread.

Is Discord required?

No. Bookmark it from the official links hub if you want patch talk. It is not a substitute for Tutorial or for liking the game.

What racer should I pick when the checklist says to choose one?

Lightning McQueen by default, Mater if the camera feels hostile, Francesco if you came for Porto Corsa. See Beginner Racer Picks.
