Worldwide Spies Map Picker Tool

A thirty-second decision guide for 20-player votes—match the night to a live Alpha track.

Map Picker Tool

The Map Picker Tool exists because Worldwide Spies lobbies waste good nights arguing. Someone wants a chill cruise. Someone wants Smasherville contact. Someone who has not finished Tutorial votes Black Forest because the name sounds cool. Use this page as a mood → map funnel, then lock the result for two races. Landmark detail lives on the maps guide. Difficulty context lives on Map Difficulty Rankings. This tool is the short version you can paste into chat.

Cars 2: Worldwide Spies is a free Team Chrome HQ Alpha, playable since 25 April 2021, with 20-player servers. Live maps include Tutorial, Radiator Springs, Motor Speedway of the South, LA Speedway, Tokyo, Porto Corsa, London, Black Forest (two routes), Thomasville, RS Speedway, and Smasherville. A Paris street layout is in development; it is not a vote option here. The game is not affiliated with Disney or Pixar.

Step 0: who is in the server?

If anyone is on their first hour, you are not picking Black Forest. You are not picking Smasherville unless they asked for chaos. Send them the Starter Agent Checklist and drive Radiator Springs. Tools serve the lobby, not an expert’s highlight reel.

If the lobby is mixed, pick the kindest map that still matches the majority mood. Override the picker toward easier whenever the chat is already tilted.

Want a chill cruise?

Pick Radiator Springs or Thomasville.

Radiator Springs is the friendliest open world: long sightlines, hometown identity, the right place for Mater or Lightning McQueen. Thomasville is the slightly hillier cousin—Cars 3 dirt-and-town energy, still a cruise, still not a city wall exam.

Do not “spice up” a cruise by dragging people into London. That is a different mood. Cooldown maps exist so oval wrecks do not define the whole night.

Car hint: Mater, McQueen, Cruz Ramirez on Thomasville, or whatever paint you just unlocked and cannot yet race.

Want oval racing?

Pick Motor Speedway of the South, LA Speedway, RS Speedway, or Smasherville.

Ask one follow-up: patience or contact?

  • Patience / teaching a draft → Motor Speedway of the South or LA Speedway.
  • Hometown story → RS Speedway (Radiator Springs Speedway).
  • Already rowdy lobby → Smasherville, with eyes open.

Ovals are geometrically friendly and socially sharp. A 20-player pack is the difficulty. Bring Piston Cup racers, McQueen, or Jeff Gorvette from the World Grand Prix roster. Read How to Race if your idea of an oval is bumper farming.

If someone says ovals are “too easy,” they are describing the corners, not the pack. Smasherville will educate them.

Want street spy or hairpins?

Pick London, Tokyo, or Porto Corsa.

Ask one follow-up: spies, neon, or Italy?

  • Spy brief → London, with Finn and Holley (Union Jack Finn / Racer Holley if training paints are live).
  • Dense neon → Tokyo, with Shu Todoroki.
  • Hairpin exam → Porto Corsa, with Francesco Bernoulli.

Do not run all three in one night unless the lobby is experienced. Street maps share a skill (placing the car near walls) but they do not share landmarks. Two wreck-heavy cities in a row is how people quit.

Beginner override: if the street vote is real but the camera is not, do Radiator Springs for ten minutes, then one city. The picker is allowed to include a warmup.

Want endurance / the hard exam?

Pick Black Forest, and pick one route on purpose.

Black Forest is the hardest live map: two routes, trees, elevation, a 20-player ribbon. Raoul ÇaRoule or Max Schnell match the identity. McQueen is allowed if he is already the comfort car. New paints you cannot recognize in a mirror are not allowed.

Rules for a forest vote:

  1. Everyone has finished Tutorial.
  2. At least half the lobby has finished a street map without rage-resetting.
  3. You name which route you are learning.
  4. You agree to leave after two messy races instead of “one more” until the server dies.

If those rules fail, the picker output is Radiator Springs, not the forest. That is not cowardice. That is how Alpha sessions stay fun.

Tutorial and Paris

Tutorial is an on-ramp. It is not a lobby vote. If someone has not finished it, they finish it while you cruise Radiator Springs, then they join.

Paris is in development. Do not stall a Friday night for it. Do not tell new agents the game is waiting on Paris. The live list is already enough to teach cruise manners, drafts, spy streets, and forest patience.

Paste-able chat script

Copy and adapt:

“Cruise → Radiator Springs or Thomasville. Oval → Motor Speedway / LA / RS Speedway, Smasherville if we are already feral. Streets → London spies, Tokyo neon, Porto Corsa hairpins. Exam → Black Forest one route. New agents veto forest. Lock two races.”

If the vote ties, McQueen mains pick the map. They are the overlap group. If that still ties, Radiator Springs wins. Kind maps keep 20-player servers together longer than famous maps.

After you pick, stop opening the garage. A matched car is a bonus, not a requirement. The Racer Tier List Hub can wait until the second race. The Agent Tools Hub is done with you once the map is locked.

Pick the mood first, the track second, the car third. Worldwide Spies already has enough continents. The Alpha does not need a twenty-minute vote to prove it. Lock Radiator Springs when people are tired, lock an oval when they want a pack, lock one city when they want a postcard, and lock Black Forest only when the lobby can name a brake marker in the trees.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Worldwide Spies questions.

What map should a full lobby of new agents pick?

Radiator Springs. Thomasville is the backup. Ovals wait until someone can hold a lane. Black Forest is vetoed.

Which oval is the teaching pick?

Motor Speedway of the South or LA Speedway for space, RS Speedway for hometown identity. Smasherville is the contact oval, not the classroom.

London, Tokyo, or Porto Corsa?

London for Finn and Holley, Tokyo for Shu and density, Porto Corsa for Francesco and hairpins. Pick one city per night if the lobby is mixed.

When is Black Forest the right call?

When Tutorial is done, street maps are not a panic, and the lobby agrees on one of the two routes. Otherwise the picker returns a kind map.

Can we vote Paris?

No. Paris is in development and is not a live track on this tool. Use London, Tokyo, or Porto Corsa for city practice.

Does the picker change if I main a spy or a Cup car?

Identity hints sit under each mood, but the lobby mood still wins. A Cup main can cruise Radiator Springs. A spy main can still be vetoed out of the forest.
