Francesco Bernoulli is the World Grand Prix rival you can actually main on day two of Cars 2: Worldwide Spies. Open-wheel silhouette, Italian identity, and a home map—Porto Corsa—that teaches braking better than any garage tooltip. On the fan tier list he shares the S-feel band with Lightning McQueen: McQueen wins on hometown familiarity, Francesco wins on “I can see that car from space.” This page is about using that visibility on the right streets without pretending the Alpha shipped a Formula telemetry overlay.

Team Chrome HQ’s Roblox experience has been playable since 25 April 2021. It is free, it is still Alpha, it holds about twenty agents a server, and it is not affiliated with Disney or Pixar. Francesco is one of the 25+ playable cars. He is also the easiest WGP body for a new agent to tell apart from a Piston Cup pack, which is why Beginner Racer Picks include him beside McQueen and Mater.

Porto Corsa is the lesson, not the wallpaper

Francesco’s home is a hairpin exam. Italian streets compress the racing line, fountains and barriers punish a wide entry, and a 20-player lobby turns a postcard into a queue. Watch the Porto Corsa layout in the embed, then cruise the map once without racing. If you cannot name two landmarks, you are not ready to turbo.

Map Difficulty Rankings place Porto Corsa in the street band: harder than Radiator Springs and Thomasville, comparable to Tokyo and London in meanness, still kinder than Black Forest’s two forest routes. That is the climb. Tutorial → Radiator Springs → one oval for traffic manners → Porto Corsa. Skip the oval if you want, but do not skip the town cruise.

When the lobby wants an oval, Francesco is still legal and still loud in a screenshot. He is just wearing the wrong film. Borrow McQueen or a Piston Cup body for Motor Speedway of the South, LA Speedway, RS Speedway, or Smasherville if your goal is drafting school instead of identity.

Francesco’s job in a pack is to not look like everyone else. That helps teammates follow you and helps you find yourself after a wreck. Legendary racers Max Verstappen, Checo Pérez, and Fernando Alonso share some of that open-wheel language; they are flex picks on the World Grand Prix roster, not replacements for Francesco’s Italian brief.

Play him when you like:

• Tight walls more than banked ovals.
• A rival personality instead of a hometown hero.
• Screenshots that say “WGP weekend” instead of “cruise night.”

Play someone else when you are teaching a brand-new friend who only knows McQueen, or when the server is determined to smash on Smasherville. Favorites are allowed. Fighting the map on purpose is optional.

How he compares to McQueen and the spies

McQueen is the all-rounder. Francesco is the street specialist who is still beginner-friendly because you can see him. Finn and Holley are the spy specialists; they own London the way Francesco owns Porto Corsa. You do not need all three as mains. A sane pair is McQueen + Francesco, or Francesco + Holley if you only care about cities.

Shu Todoroki is the Tokyo cousin. Raoul ÇaRoule and Max Schnell are the forest cousins. If you liked Francesco’s “I belong on this postcard” feeling, that is the WGP habit to copy: match racer to nation-shaped map. The roster page lists those pairings without turning them into fake stats.

A Porto Corsa practice loop

1. Finish Tutorial so camera and turbo are not mysteries.
2. Spawn Francesco and cruise Radiator Springs for two minutes to confirm chase-cam.
3. Load Porto Corsa, cruise, and pick three brake markers (a fountain, a barrier, a building color).
4. Race one clean lap without blaming other agents for your late apex.
5. If you wreck twice on the same hairpin, slow the entry until it is boring. Boring is how hairpins get fast.
6. Only then join a full 20-player race on that map.

Unlock-wise, Francesco is a roster member you should expect to find without a horror-story grind, but Alpha menus move. If he is locked, use the unlock guide instead of a random comment section. Paints, if they appear, are identity. We will not claim a “hot rod Francesco” buff that the live build does not document.

Fan ranking and honesty

S-tier here means easy to spot, inviting on streets, friendly to agents who already like towns. It does not mean he wins every oval. It does not mean McQueen is worse. If a patch ever makes open-wheel bodies clumsy in this Alpha, the letter will move. Until Team Chrome HQ shows a public stat sheet, your last clean Porto Corsa lap is the only telemetry that matters.

Do not main Francesco on Black Forest as a personality test. The forest is a different exam. Bring him home to Italy when you want to know whether you can place a car. That is the entire point of a rival who lives on hairpins.

Keep one boring cooldown map in the same session—Radiator Springs or Thomasville—so Porto Corsa does not become the only thing you remember about the Alpha. Francesco is a specialist. Specialists still need a town to park in when the fountain wins.
